Energy Saving Floorboard Draught Excluder

A new floor sealant that has been designed to eliminate the cold draughts and improve the comfort and energy efficiency of your home.
Easy to install, the draught excluder strip requires no adhesives and complements the overall finish of your floorboards. The specially formulated colour "Shadow" has been designed to mimic the natural shadows created between floorboards and is almost invisible to the naked eye.
Its flexible properties allow it to be applied to a wide range of gaps which will be completely sealed. Supplied with a free applicator and comes in three versions:
40m rolls for gaps of 3mm or less 40m rolls for gaps between 4-8mm 10m rolls for gaps betwee 6 - 12mm
Cleverly manufactured with thousands of concealed air pockets which allows the sealant to be compressed by almost 90% of its original profile. These flexible properties allow DraughtEx to be compressed into floorboard gaps much smaller than its original form. Once the sealant is in the gap it will expand until it fills the width of the gap.
Timber floors contract and expand throughout the course of their life. These movements cause alternative floorboard sealants such as papier-mache, wood filler and silicon to become ineffective and loose and eventually drop out. DraughtEx will mimic the movement pattern of the timber and therefore remain in place retaining insulation.

Gaps in between floorboards often create cold draughts which can lead to chilly rooms and discomfort during the winter months. The time old remedy to combat these cold draughts is often the use of additional heating, which in turn increases energy usage and utility bills.
A 12 x 12ft room has approximately 25 floorboards and an average gap area of 3.87ft² which is similar to a small window being left open.
Based on the results of research carried out by The Energy Saving Trust, it is estimated that filling floorboard gaps can save a household up to £20.00/room/year on energy bills and reduce its CO2 contribution by around 110kg.
