Large Log Store
Garden Timber Store from Euroheat
Eco friendly sustainable sourced timber
This large and sturdy log store is made in the UK from sustainable sourced timber with weathershield.
One log store will holds 1.5 cubic metres of logs, these stores are made so that you can secure two together so if you are naturally seasoning larger quantities just join two or more together side by side or back to back. Remember burning dry wood will give you efficient, cost effective heating.
Wood and logs need to be stored for two reasons, firstly it would be impracticable to fell a tree whenever the stove needed lighting and secondly, wood as a living plant, contained water which is the last thing we should be trying to burn. Storing wood to dry may be tedious but it costs nothing and you will be rewarded with a stove that operates safely, attractively and more economically. There is nothing more anoying than trying to create some heat in your fire from unseasoned wood.
This wood log store comes with an optional Weathershield to protect it from the rain whilst still allowing the wood to season. This weathershield material used provide much better ventilation that traditional cladding. Weathershield is 25% permeable Rot proof Tear Resistant Non Toxic
The log store is supplied in kit form on a pallet. The assembly instructions are stage by stage and fully comprehensive.
If you are burning wood, it really should be dry, 25% is the maximum water content for efficient wood burning. The Euroheat log store has been designed to encourage nature to naturally dry freshly sawn timber as quickly as possible. Dependent upon type of wood, diameter and length, split or not split, this process can take anywhere between six and twenty-four months.
Dry wood is a must for any type of wood burning. You must either buy pre-dried timber and keep it dry, or season your own. The log store has been designed in a modular fashion, therefore, facilitating both types of approach.
Tools Required; Screw driver (preferably battery operated), hammer and a pair of helping hands.
Where to Site the Log Store
The log store can be located in almost any position, however, if possible, the following advice will help with the drying procedure.
•Position the log store on a level surface which will support its weight.
•The direction in which the log store should face, is ideally south, so that the direct sunlight will help with the drying process.
•If a southerly location is not possible then choose one that is not in the direction of inclement weather.
•Choose a location where there is good air movement.
•To avoid rain or snow ingression fit the optional weather shield.
