This beautiful, unique fair trade sari range is designed by Paper High and a small family business in Rajasthan, Western India.
The paper is very easy to write on and very smooth. It is made from unbleached recycled cotton left over from the massive garment industry. The paper is made in a small workshop by a charity that is committed to social responsibility through education, especially directed towards woman in rural villages. It is one of the few cultures left that continue to make paper by hand keeping traditional skills alive in an increasingly industrialised country. We have had the same supplier for 7 years and view them as firm friends, we have watched his children grow, as well as his business. We are proud, that together, we are able to provide people in rural villages fairly paid work that would have otherwise have been difficult to find. Would make a great gift!
