Felt is an unwoven fabric and it gets its properties due to entanglement of fibres. Felt is formed by applying heat, moisture and pressure on wool. Initially, heat and moisture is applied to the fibres then it is soaked in soapy water, these fibres can then slide freely with each other resulting in a fine entanglement of the fibres.
Our Nepali felt producers are inspired by the principle of fair trade in everything that they do making themselves a responsible company for the preservation of nature. Our Nepali friends are working together with local communities for the cause of social development and for a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
Working together with our producers our aim is to generate an income level for more than 100 underprivileged men and women. Our producers are providing them not only with job opportunities and security but sharing their income with them. In addition to this, they are setting aside a certain portion of their income for community development and staff welfare.
As a company committed to Fair Trade principle they will continue to be one of the front runners in the campaign of a safe and clean environment by getting involved in conservation activities. They are committed to a pollution free environment and are against use of child labour. Devoted to environmental conservation and community development our producers have been using solar energy for a number of years.
