Our products are hand knitted in certified organic 100% merino wool sourced from a single farm in New Zealand. The naturally coloured wool is so soft and luxurious that it can be worn next to the skin of the most delicate babies and toddlers, while giving a durable fabric which can be repeatedly hand washed. Stella James organic merino wool knitwear has not been treated chemically throughout the entire production route, from the farm to the finished product. The sheep graze on land that is free from all pesticides and herbicides, and no chemicals or dyes have been used in the making of our knitwear. Organic merino wool is bio-degradable, naturally non allergenic and has properties which allow the skin to "breathe". It absorbs impurities and residues, and the purity and softness of organic wool may offer some relief to people with certain skin allergies. It also helps to regulate body temperature, enabling babies and toddlers to retain the optimum safe temperature in hot or cold conditions.
